Research interest is in the unaddressed/under addressed (shadows) of leadership and their impact of self-care. Agenda is to continue the research and update literature to more current information.

My attention will be turned toward my dissertation, which will focus on understanding the shadow side of leadership and the importance of self-care.

Professional Goal Statement

Over the past several years, we have been forced to witness the failure of leadership from the most loved and respected leaders to sometimes neighbors and/or family members. A common theme is the reason behind the behavior is unknown or needs to be explored. Further exploration of individual(s) too often reveal that the actor had unaddressed/under addressed (shadows) issues that often played out to the detriment of the public and/or personally. My goal is to research the subject of leadership and self-care to assist counselors with education and understanding of leaders that may present in their practice that on the surface appear stable and without presenting issues. When counselors create a safe, judgement free environment for leaders, then our leaders have a better opportunity to thrive, which has a direct impact on leadership styles and the people they serve.
